Mary Holmes, AIA, Associate

Mary J. Holmes was born in Washington DC, but grew up in Florida. She graduated from Rice University with a Bachelor of Arts in 1992 and a Bachelor of Architecture degree in 1994. She first joined Jackson & Ryan Architects in 2004 and has returned after her husband’s overseas assignments because she enjoys working on interesting projects with talented people in a collaborative and friendly environment. Her experience includes schools, rectories, churches, commercial buildings and government work. She was involved in the design through construction documentation for One Park Place and the St. John Fisher Catholic Church.  Mary has lived around the world, in Tokyo, Japan; Jakarta, Indonesia; St. John’s, Canada, and most recently in Stavanger, Norway. Living abroad has expanded her view of the world, broadened her understanding of cultures and their languages while affording her the opportunity to see amazing architecture first hand. Mary appreciates the creative process and seeing ideas materialize in a way that serves others.  Our clients admire her thorough attention to detail and uncanny ability to explore and develop design solutions. Outside of work, Mary enjoys travel, photography, golf and time with family.
